This 9 April 2012 is the 70th Anniversary of the Bataan Death March. Because of pieces like KAKEHASHI: THAT WE MIGHT LIVE and LAST WORLD STANDING, I wish I had greater channels of connection to Conductors and the world of Music at large. Alas, like the Souls of Bataan & Corregidor so, so much is known by only a few. It's ironic for instance that I decided to use facebook only on 11/11/11. It's okay. I rely upon you and Your networks to spread the news about what is available as we continue to honor these Men, some of whom, after all these years and all they have been through, are still with us.
KAKEHASHI: THAT WE MIGHT LIVE, is entire self-contained concert written to honour the Souls of Bataan & Corrgeidor and the enormous, horrific price of Freedom. LAST WORLD STANDINGis a sequel work, an anti-war ode to Peace, a 33-minute work which brought an 18-minute standing ovation at The Brucknerhaus, Austria Premiere. Please investigate these works in all of their forms, from recordings to DVDs to Scores. What they serve is worth your Time. Godspeed. S
On 28-29 October 2011, The Concerto for Violin & Orchestra was premiered. Previously recorded on the STORMWORKS Chapter 5:8 CD Set: WRITINGS on the WALL as my own transcription, the original work was recorded live at the premiere. To see a Review translated from Dutch by the Music Critic himself, please click.
The work was played by Carla Leurs. The Conductor was Joos Smeets

from Germany, Osnarück!" Jens Schröer,

From
ORDERING the piece to having it delivered, with the Parts printed
and ready for rehearsal in... 4 ... that's FOUR Minutes!
That's to Kenneth Boyd of West Orange, HS, Florida... thus usurping
for Florida the phrase, "In a New York Minute!"
Dr.
Joseph Herman of Tennessee Tech University... was the
previous record-bearer at 9 minutes.

He understands completely!
"Dear Steve, We did MUSASHI 5 times
since May, and we feel increasing our fascination and love for
this extraordinary music. We played Musashi at World Music Contest in Kerkrade last Sunday. The audience was
moved on and electrified, we got standing ovations. This Music
is to touch the souls and to inspire people."
